Choose your device for step-by-step instructions to install and activate your eSIM.
- Open Settings.
- Tap Connections, then select SIM Manager.
- Tap Add eSIM.
- Choose to Scan QR code or enter the Activation code (SM-DP+ address) manually.
- Follow the on-screen prompts to download and install the plan.
- Open Settings.
- Go to Network & internet.
- Tap the (+) Add icon next to SIMs.
- When asked if you don’t have a SIM card, tap Next.
- Select “Download a SIM instead?” and follow the prompts to scan your QR code or enter your code manually.
- Open Settings.
- Tap Network & internet or Mobile networks.
- Go to Manage eSIM or Add eSIM.
- Choose to scan your carrier’s QR code or select “Need help?” to enter the details manually.
Rename your new eSIM. We suggest giving it the coverage name and the date (for example “Europe – Jun 2026”). This prevents confusion with older eSIMs you may already have on the device.
Once the eSIM profile has installed successfully and you’ve set a unique name, turn it on:
- Toggle it On: make sure your new eSIM is toggled on in your SIM Manager.
- Turn on Data Roaming: since this is a travel eSIM, you must enable it for roaming — go to your mobile network settings and turn Data Roaming ON.
- Turn off your Primary SIM: we strongly suggest turning off your primary SIM to avoid unexpected roaming charges, or at least disabling its roaming. If you use a local carrier eSIM at home, you can usually keep both active as a dual-SIM setup.
- Open Settings.
- Tap Cellular (or Mobile Data / Mobile Service).
- Tap Add eSIM (or Add Cellular Plan).
- Tap Use QR Code and scan your QR code — or tap Enter Details Manually to type the SM-DP+ address and activation code.
- Follow the on-screen prompts to add the plan.
Label your new eSIM. When installing, give the plan a clear name — the coverage and date (for example “Europe – Jun 2026”) — so you don’t confuse it with older eSIMs. You can rename it later in Settings → Cellular → tap the plan → Cellular Plan Label.
Once installed and named, turn it on:
- Turn on the line: Settings → Cellular → select your travel eSIM → toggle “Turn On This Line”.
- Turn on Data Roaming: with the eSIM line selected, tap Data Roaming and switch it ON (required for a travel eSIM).
- Manage your primary SIM: under Cellular Data, choose the travel eSIM. We strongly suggest turning off your primary line’s data/roaming to avoid charges — or keep both active as dual-SIM if you use a home eSIM.
